…And Now

The Foss is a cleaner, quieter river now, enjoyed by many for walking and relaxing. A few new structures have been added in recent times.

The Foss barge goes under the Hungate bridge

RFS members helped reinstate the garden on the riverbank at York Castle. This is now a pleasant place for visitors to view the river

Several of these photographs were produced by members of the York Photographic Society (YPS) as part of a project to investigate the River Foss and its environs using creative photography. The three photographers involved see this as an ongoing project with almost endless possibilities. Each photograph by a YPS member is acknowledged.
