York Walls Festival – May 2022

A busy day on Sunday with plenty of visitors and an excellent turnout of paddleboarders who, by all accounts, enjoyed their outing and the chance to see the city from a different perspective. Probably the most popular exhibit was a tray of river-dwellers including dragonfly larvae, a selection of worms and leeches and some tiny freshwater shrimps! With the help of the paddleboarders and  of CYC’s boat ‘Foxy’ we cleared the river of pretty much all the rubbish we could see, as well as hauled out a dozen assorted pieces of ironmongery. What is wrong with people that they can’t be bothered to recycle bikes and return trolleys?

Thank you to all who turned out to paddle, to work in the gazebo and to visit us for a chat.
