Boat trip from Melbourne on the newly opened section of the Pocklington Canal
11th August 2018
A boat trip along the newly opened section of the Pocklington Canal towards Bielby. (The celebrations of the bi-centenary of its opening are in July)
Bring a picnic with you.
There are loos at the departure point (a key has to be requested) but not on board.
The estimated duration of the return trip is 3 to 4 hours, and we will ask for a donation for the canal preservation trust, which will probably be £10 – gift-aided if you are willing and able.
We need 12 people to make the trip viable, so please contact Peter Hopwood via firstname.lastname@example.org (or 01904 768071) by the end of July, if not before.
Meet at the departure point which is down a lane at the side of the Melbourne Arms in Melbourne, and be ready to leave at 1030. Parking at the end of the lane is for members only, so you will need to leave your car (carefully parked, please) on the main road, so be sure that you have enough time!
