Open meeting and talks on Invasive Plant Species and Community Water Monitoring
11th October 2017 Strensall, York YO32 5XW
Open meeting/talks by Martin Fuller and David Barber of the Environmental Agency on Invasive plant species and Community Water Monitoring.
The RFS holds an annual balsam pull, but does it do any good? What could we do better, and what about the other invasive plants – where did they come from, what harm do they do, and can we control them.
Also, as cuts force the Environment Agency and others to reduce their monitoring of river water quality, opportunities arise for us to take over some of these tasks and learn more about our river and how we can help look after it. We have been running a water quality monitoring scheme for several months now, and here is a chance to learn more and join in.
